Friday night, Buddy's in Newtown turns into the ultimate hub for live, original music

With over 5 million streams in the past twelve months and a rapidly growing international fanbase, PRETTY BLEAK have quickly emerged as one of Australia’s most exciting alternative pop acts. 

In 2026, the Melbourne band return for headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney before making their international debut at Summer Sonic Festival in Tokyo and Osaka, appearing alongside artists including The Strokes, David Byrne, and MGK, before rounding out the run with showcase performances at BigSound in Brisbane.

Following support from Spotify and Apple Music for their 2024 debut EP, the band sold out their Melbourne launch show while lead single "she'll come around" gained traction across TikTok. 2025 saw continued growth with the release of their sophomore EP, 1500% listener growth globally, and a hometown show sold out in just three days.

The band’s momentum has carried onto the live circuit, having supported the likes of Short Stack, Sly Withers and Eliza & The Delusionals, as well as appearances at Great Escape Festival and BigSound, building a reputation that’s increasingly drawing attention across both the Australian and international music scene.
